Riona began her career in photo- journalism having her work published in both local and national newspapers. She also began doing magazines and commercial work . In 1998, she opened her own gallery in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, where she began selling her own work which included landscapes, portraits and black and white photography.

Following a request from a friend to photograph his sister's wedding, Riona became involved through popular demand in wedding photography. She soon discovered that she had a natural flair for this type of work which combined her talent as a photographer with her enthusiasm for working with people.

Riona brings her own individual style to her work and she likes to marry both the conventional and the unconventional to produce a unique record of the most important day for the bride and groom.
